The iwCLL 2021 Satellite symposium features expert discussions on the evolving role of BTK inhibitors in R/R CLL and highlights a rational approach to improving patient outcomes. The symposium was chaired by Professor Anna Schuh (Director of the Molecular Diagnostics Centre and Honorary Consultant Hematologist at the University of Oxford in the UK) and offers a better understanding of next generation BTK inhibitors, provides an expert review of treatment choices for patients with R/R CLL and two patient cases are presented.

Evolving Role of BTK Inhibitors in R/R CLL - A Rational Approach to Improving Patient

Professor Federico Pea (Professor of Pharmacology in the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences at the University of Bologna in Italy) provides a rationale for using different BTK for R/R CC based on their pharmacological properties.

Professor Wojciech Jurczak (Professor of Hematology at the Memorial Maria Skłodowska Curie National Research Institute of Oncology in Poland) offers insights into the evolving strategies to incorporate next generation BTK inhibitors into the treatment regimen for R/R CLL patients.

Dr Othman Al-Sawaf (hematologist-oncologist at University Hospital of Cologne in Germany and study physician in the German CLL Study Group) presents two patient cases where patients received a next generation BTK inhibitor.

The presentations are followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A session moderated by Professor Anna Schuh.
